This K-tip chef knife is made from 26c3 "spicy white" steel, differentially heat treated to 65 HRC. The Hamon was meticulously hand polished using a combination of diamond and natural Japanese abrasives. The softer steel has an almost frosted appearance and the harder steel is near mirror polished. The ferrule is made from nickel silver, the face is hammered and the facets are left at a lower grit resulting in an interesting contrast after the aging process. The octagonal handle is a beautiful piece of ringed gidge, kept very flat and crisp through very carful hand sanding and minimal buffing.
